find and remove duplicate files
WeeDuplicateDetective enables you to find duplicate files across one or multiple folders. You can decide to identify duplicates by their name, size and file date as well as by checksum comparison (MD5/SHA-1/SHA256). The program will scan the selected folder(s) and present you with a list of all duplicates found, organized in groups. To make it easier to select the files that you want to remove, the program offers several auto-select options that lets you check the files based on their date (e.g. select older files) and also based on custom search patterns to match a string in the file name or path.
Pros: Selection options and filters to auto-select duplicates to be removed
Cons: GUI tends to be sluggish; no filtering by file type, all files in a folder are scanned
