access your files remotely Microsoft SkyDrive is a desktop client for the SkyDrive cloud service. If you are familiar with Dropbox, you'll find that Skydrive works in a similar manner. It creates a SkyDrive folder and whatever file you copy into the folder are automatically synchronized and uploaded with the SkyDrive cloud service. You can access your files from other client applications on PC. Mac or mobile devices as well as the web interface. SkyDrive also allows you to access all other files on your computer(s), not just the ones in your SkyDrive folder. This can come very handy if you need remote access to files that are not synched with the cloud service. The file access features requires an additional security step (email confirmation) and can also be turned off completely.SkyDrive requires a Windows Live account and comes with 7GB of free storage.
